Services
The following services are available from ABA Scotland:
Initial No Obligation Discussion: Discuss your child's current skills and any issues/concerns you may have. Provide details of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and how ABA Scotland may be able to assist. This can be undertaken over the telephone or during a home visit.
Initial Assessment: A formal assessment of your child's current educational, social and communication skills using the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP). Also undertake interviews with parents and significant others. The initial assessment can take approximately a half day, depending on individual cases. A detailed report of findings with recommendations is provided.
Initial Training: Theory and practical hands-on training is provided, split over two half days, for all individuals who will be delivering your child's Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) programme. The learning outcomes developed following the initial VB-MAPP assessment are implemented. A full training manual is provided for each individual team member.
Case Management: Follow-up workshops are held on a regular basis (typically every 3-4 weeks) in order to review your child's progress and introduce new target skills. Workshops also provide a forum for discussing any issues or concerns the team may have, and implement potential solutions. Each workshop is scheduled for approximately 3 hours. A detailed report is produced following each workshop.
Tutor Training: Train new tutors when changes to your team occur.
Nursery/School Liaison (where applicable): Available to liaise with your child's nursery/school on transitional issues and provide information on their ABA programme.
Production of Additional Programme Stimuli: Assist in the production of programme stimuli should this be required.
Assistance can also be provided to help families find suitable tutors to join their child's ABA team.
